Translation I

Enlightened and Educated

A counselor’s choice

turned a page within me.

I gained a shift in sight,

Obtaining lessons deeper than I’d know.

There stood my teacher in suit and pride,

He brought the past to life inside.

He spoke of Bolivar, fierce and grand,

Who wanted to free a fractured land.

However one October, words felt strange,

Their meaning lost within my sight.

Why fight for land that’s not one’s own?

There I sat confused, with my thoughts alone.

Then Ocean spoke, with a kind voice,

His cap stood low on his head, he said:

“Bolivar dreamed of one wide home,

Gran Colombia–one vast dome.”

The confusion cleared from my mind,

I realized something new.

I learned that learning isn’t a race,

But build upon patience, time, and space.

For learning isn’t just about facts alone,

It’s home they’re shared, how seeds are sown.

It grows through struggle, hand in hand,

Through guidance, others understand.
